Work

Okay so today was absolutely horrid at work! I was about ready to throw my badge down and walk out the door. I was losing my patience with the teenagers who flood the library after 3pm and reek havoc for the next 3 hours. I am telling you the the teens today have no respect for authority in fact they don't even fear getting in trouble anymore. When I was a teen I was afraid I would get caught doing anything and man, I would never think to back talk an authority figure anywhere, whether a cop or just a walmart employee. I didn't matter I was taught to show them respect. Yesterday I watched two young teen girls laugh loudly and hysterically as they were ushered out of the library because they were being disruptive. You would think that after being told you need to leave you would at least have the decency to leave without making a scene. However, these two girls thought otherwise and even when there were treats of involving the sheriffs they still didn't calm down too much. How ridiculous!
Now unfortunately the children are not the only problems here! Oh no, the adults at times are just as bad if even worse. Today, I politely let a lady know that we have a no cell phone policy here at the library (again, a library you would think that would be obvious), and she rudely looked and me and with an attitude replied as she got up to leave that it was an important call. Now if I wasn't working it would of been over! I personally don't see the need to give attitude to anyone who is simply doing their job. Now, how many of us when we are pulled over for violating a traffic law argue with the police officer, laugh hysterically in their faces, roll our eyes, or do anything else disrespectful to them? Yeah, probably not many so I ask you...why do we disrespect other people at their work place if they are just simply doing their job? You see we seem not to care that if a person who is simply doing their job fails to uphold their duties of their work description that they are placing their job on the line. So next time give it a second thought when a person asks you to obey and yield to their regulations, before you give them an attitude. Remember when we do this we continue to make the place we are visiting a pleasant place to be, whether it is the Library or Walmart.

Blessings,
Angelia
