Pure Promises

Today was alright I guess...went through the same boring routine I go through daily. Wake up, get ready, work, home...I look forward to those days where I have unexpected things happen or there is something exciting going on, unfortunately today was not one of those days. Yet, as I even write this I know that as a Christian there is hope and it is up to me to make the day more productive than it has been. The Lord says in Lamentations 3:23 that His mercies are new every morning? As I ponder that statement, that promise...I ask myself if I truly believe or walk in faith regarding this scripture? Do I live as though I honestly know His mercies are new? And do I even know what that means? Mercy is not getting what I deserve. Huh... And each morning the Lord has new mercies that cover my life, my wretchedness. Each morning I am given a new chance! I mentioned above that I must walk in that promise, but what does it mean to walk in His promises?
A couple of nights ago, Anthony and I got into a bit of a spat and he was ready to call the whole engagement off. I reminded him of the promise that the Lord had given me and that we needed to walk in that. But how do we do that? The actual promise that the Lord gave us was Ecclesiastes 4:9-10,12, "two are better off than one, for they can help each other success. If one person falls, the other can reach out and help. But someone who falls alone is in real trouble. A person standing alone can be attacked and defeated, but two can stand back-to-back and conquer. Three are even better, for a triple-braided cord is not easily broken." So this is our promise. We will be able to help one another, and together with the Lord, we will be able to conquer what ever comes our way. How do we walk in this? We daily chose to move forward in our relationship and know that a three-braided cord is not easily broken so Jesus is the one who binds us together. As soon as we take Him out we will be loosed and fall apart quickly! We must consciously make a decision to keep Jesus in the center daily, we must look for tangible ways to strengthen our relationship and to move forward.
And so as a believer we walk in the Lord when we seek His advice, His ways, what He would have us to do in all areas of our lives. And if we are walking in His promises we know that ALL things work together for good, for those who love God and are called according to His purpose (Rom. 8:28); so therefore if I know that then every single thing that happens to me whether good or bad, I know that the Lord is using it for my good. So I can daily trust that He is in complete control of my life! <----- (See how we are walking in His promise, we are applying the scripture to our own lives, we are living it!) If I know that He is in control, then I will daily seek Him in prayer and ask for His will...being in prayer just keeps us up to speed with what He is doing. So I encourage you brothers and sisters WALK in HIS PROMISES!!!! Know that He will supply all your needs according to His riches and glory through Christ Jesus (Phil. 4:19), Know that you will lack no good thing (Ps.34:10), we share the sufferings of Christ (Rom.8:17, 2Cor. 1:7), we will suffer for doing good (1Pet. 4:19), God is ultimately in control!
So walk in the promises of the Lord...and be blown away as you see His words come to life in your daily routine! Psalms 12:6 "The Lord's promises are pure, like silver refined in a furnace, purified seven times over."

Walking in His Promises,
Angelia

p.s. remember we serve the Promises maker not the promise itself!
